You may already be aware that it is possible to buy seized goods and lost property at bargain prices at public auctions. The Government sell off large quantities of property from a variety of sources, for example HM Customs & Excise seized goods or items seized by Court bailiffs. Police forces will also arrange for unclaimed lost property to be auctioned. Even airlines and the railway service auction lost property!
